Beautiful fountain pen by the brand Delta ENRICO CARUSO. BRAND NEW. Serial number 461/873. The Special Limited Edition Delta Enrico Caruso is dedicated to who is considered the greatest tenor of our time and possibly the most famous singer of all time, who had a particularly sweet and expressive voice tone, rich in sonority and brilliance, with baritone inflections. These characteristics gave him the possibility of switching from the lyrical genre to zarzuela and, in his last years, to dramatic roles in which he gave his best.
The excellent quality of his voice contributed, by the recording of many albums, to achieve successes and popularity in the following years.
He was born in Naples, in 1873 and, in 1901. He sang his "Elisir d' Amore" at the San Carlos Theatre. As a result of the negative reviews, he vowed never to sing in his own land again and he moved to the United States, where he remained for 18 years. During this period, he took his art to the most important theatres in Europe. In 1903 he debuted at the "Metropolitan" in New York with the opera "Rigoletto" achieving a great success. He died in Naples, in 1921.
The collection was made in a special celluloid with black and grained brown. In the crown of the cap we find the reproduction of the effigy of the famous tenor, and the clip made in vermeil silver is adorned in relief and in a stylized form, with the first musical notes of a classic Neapolitan song; in turn, the cap is adorned with 3 rings, also plated.
On the body we find engraved the anagram of the brand, next to "DELTA ITALY", "ENRICO CARUSO" and "SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION"; on the side refilling lever, it reads "EDIZIONE 2007". Finally, in the ring that it has at the end of the body, before the bottom, it reads the engraving "ENRICO CARUSO 1873". The coupling of the cap to the body, both to close the fountain pen and when it’s put on the end to write, is with a thread closure at three principles. In order for the lateral lever and the clip to be on the same line, the body must first be accommodated in the cap, making the lever and the clip coincide on the same line, and then screw clockwise.
The 18 kt gold nib, is custom made, elastic and flexible, where the clip's embellishment motif is repeated.
On the bottom, and on a gold-plated metal button, the serial number over the total manufactured is engraved.
It was released in 2007, with a circulation of 873 copies (in memory of his year of birth). Don't miss out on this chance!
