Ru van ROSSEM (Amsterdam 1924 - Tilburg 2007). Hand-coloured relief etching.

Rossems' etchings are always the result of a search for 'the right and pressing physical form'. As an alchemist he experimented with the etching technique, in which he developed new, personal procedures.

In the mid-eighties Ru van Rossum decided to quit teaching and focus entirely on his art. For van Rossum a multiple of cultures represented a huge source of inspiration. Van Rossum continued to explore these cultures further and admired them, especially the Eastern cultures.
