Studio Aesse is an international art gallery with a focus on contemporary art. The art gallery is dedicated to expose established and emerging artist, expressing themselves in abstraction, street art, photography and sculpture.

Matthias Hellemans is an artist who lives in Antwerp, Belgium. He studied art at the Royal Conservatory. Next to painting he is a writer and overall creative.

Hellemans searches for the abstraction behind the mask of the human facade. The starting point, very often, is the face with its expressions.
He names the result ‘the total abstraction of pure emotion’.

Matthias Hellemans has made large works for theatre productions where they shine as a scenographic element.
