French hammerless shotgun made by "Manufrance", model "L'ideal" in 16 gauge. Technically, the rifle is in decent condition. It cocks nicely and closes nicely without slack, the (damask) barrels are both internally and externally slightly pitted. The typical of this model rifle are the 2 triggers each with their own trigger bracket and the "key" that sits behind the trigger brackets (key pinching = cocking and unlocking rifle). This rifle also has "loading indicators", which you only see occasionally with very early hammerless rifles (like this one). It is, of course, only equipped with French black powder test bench stamps. Hammerless shotguns from this model/system with only black powder test bench stamps are not often seen!
