High relief sculpture depicting racing horses.
The sculpture was hand carved from a block of bardiglio marble, a precious statuary marble from the Apuane Alps.
To give dynamism to the figures, the sculptor played with his chisel on the tumultuous clouds of dust that are the background to the horses . This way he created a different sculptural texture and also greater depth.
The sculpture rests upon a small base in Red French marble.
