Very pretty pastel illustration representing marabouts (domed tombs of revered saints), in the distance,
the Moroccan high atlas and its snow-capped peaks.
Renowned symbolist painter, Lucien LEVY-DHURMER travelled a lot from 1897,
mainly in Europe and in North Africa.
His works are displayed in many museums. Louvre museum, Musée d'Orsay, Museum of
Fines Arts in Brest, Petit Palais...
He enjoys very high ratings, reaching over €150,000 for his symbolist pastels!
A ‘palm grove and marabout’ pastel, a similar theme, was sold on March 24th, 2011,
Lot 307, by Artcurial Paris, for €11,476.

In excellent overall condition, with a little tear of the sheet in the bottom left-hand corner, which is not visible
once framed, masked by the passe-partout frame.
