Beautiful painting of this painter. In a beautiful frame of art dealership Tettero, The Hague. On the back it says "Verdier." Maybe the place in France.

After having taken lessons with the painter Roland Larij from Dordrecht, he was educated at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. In addition he was taught by, among others, Gerrit Willem Dijsselhof and Herman van der Weele. At the age of 25, he became a member of the Pulchri Studio. From 1894 on, he was a member of ' Arti et Amicitiae '. In 1891, he was awarded the Academy Prize (gold medal) of The Hague Academy [1]. At the world exhibition in Paris in 1900 Van Vuuren received the 'Diploma d'honneur'. [2]
Van Vuuren worked and lived in Dordrecht, Amsterdam, The Hague, Elspeet, Epe, Elburg and Lochem. In 1903 he finally settled in Nunspeet, where he died in 1941 (then part of the municipality of Ermelo). In Nunspeet, he was a member of the art circle of Nunspeet, where he had contact with Jos Lussenburg, Arthur Briet, Frans Huysmans and Edzard Koning. He taught, among others, Theodora Elisabeth Wolterbeek Muller.
Van Vuuren married Anna Margaretha Hager on April 25, 1900 in Elburg, the daughter of head master of the school, Hendrikus Heijman and Maria Dorothea Straatman.
