Kamigata print by Nansuitei Yoshiyuki (1835–1879), student of Yoshiume. His style is typical for the Osaka-e (大阪絵) or kamigata-e (上方絵) prints.
The print depicts two actors in a scene from the story Kanadehon Chushingura (仮名手本忠臣蔵), right the actor Nakamura Jakuemon I and left the actor Jitsukawa Enzaburô I (name taken on by actor Jitsukawa Gakujûrô II from 1833 to 1895).
The play was performed in the Naka no Shibai (中の芝居) theatre in Osaka in the 9th month of 1864.
In good condition, a few restored wormholes, a few minor stains. Trimmed. Print quality is exceptional! Beautiful colours and strong lines. A de luxe version of a print with blind press (Karazuri or embossing) and with "burnishing" of the black colour. Beautiful composition with perfect in-fill, a true collector's item! Chuban size.
The print will be shipped with care by Bpost tracking, registered.
